This is easily the greatest disney film every.

1) the songs are awesome. "Gaston" had me chuckling away.
2) the animation, especiallyin the snow & the forests, is just amazing
3) you can read as much depth as you want into the story.

Unlike virtually every other fairy tale, especially disney stories, belle isn't a princess. She's not even all that poor. She's a middle class girlin a rural environment. And the thing that she likes mostin the world? Reading. how awesome is that? she doesn't just fallin love with the main guyin town, she goes for the guy with the biggest library. Similarly, the one who really learns his lesson is the beast, for being mean to that old woman, who wasin fact a witch. So the aristocrat was brought down for his lack of deference & re-educatedin the ways of polite society by a woman from the lower orders. Ace.

4)It's got Jerry Orbach from Law & Order as Lumiere!

This is not one of those films that you thought was great but watch again & it stinks. The pace is good, the songs keep the whole thing moving. I was uncertain about ordering this but I did & it made my day!

i first saw this movie when i was 3 it was my favorite film but now i am 18 & i cant belive it is still my favourite film i would rather watch this movie again than any other.this movie is just packed with magic i love all the disney films but this doesnt compare.the way they capture two people who didnt fitin to find each other over come all obsticals & sill be able to fitin amazing music , damsilin destress , beautiful gown & one of the greatest love story which all disney films have beauty & the beast did it betterin ever other way & more including the magic mirror , the magic rose & the amazin charecters.
i have watched it so many times its hard to belive that ever time i watch it its like the first time i forget everything around me i still cry every time at the end this film has just had a big impact on my life. no other film has done any of it before its so original

This is by far my favourate Disney Film. It's innocence is a joy to seein comparision to other more violent childrens films. The annimation is lovely, the songs are a joy & the scene of Beauty & the Beast dancing together never fails to leave both my children singing the tune & asking to go to Disney Land too!

This is a disney film that will not be forgotten as others such as pocahontus were. It is also probably the last good Disney film of it's kind, as they have now elected to focus on computer annimation.

Suspend cynicism & see it through the eyes of a child- it is a truelly beautiful film

My sister still has the original 1992 video & it is by far superior. Whoever was responsible for the colours on this version should have lost their job - they are not the original colours from the film. Maurice's eyes have been coloured green instead of black, the west wing has been brightened so much it is no longer mysterious & I HATE IT when they put sequences that weren'tin the filmin the movie, as they did with 'Human Again' This is NOT the film I saw! This scene should have been an extra. They did the same with The Lion King. Thank God The Little Mermaid wasn't messed about with. Restorations should simply preserve what wasin the original release, not mess about with it like this. A great shame as it is a fabulous film. I wonder if the 2-disc red box set was better?
