The Lost Boys is the only Film to send a familiar, extremely welcome tingle down my Spine. Ever since I was extremely young this has been my favourite Film & it still is my favourite Film to this very day!
Michael & Sam have to move with their Mother to Santa Karla, to live with their simple, moody Granddad following their Mothers divorce. Granddad is kind of laughed at by Sam & Michael because he keeps going on about Santa Karla having the highest murder ratein the Country & his love for all things Taxidermy, however Michael can't help feeling Granddad has a point when he meets a gorgeous girl called Star... & 4 rather stunning Biker Buddies, led by the charismatic but equally sinister David (played amazingly by Kiefer Sutherland).
The Boys befriend Michaelin a strange sort of way & soon enough, much to Michaels dismay & confusion, they coax him to drink from a bottle full of Blood & Michael is thrown into a dark world of Monsters & Murder. To put the cherry on the Cake Sam is desperate & enlists the help of Patriotic Vampire-Believers/Hunters The Frog Brothers after his Mum starts dating a shady, albeit quite square character who, much to Sams suspicion, could just be the Head Vampire!! Will this all meet an end where none of them can turn back? Fall under the '80s spell, & watch the best Film you've even seen! After all, you can't live forever...!
The Lost Boys is widely recognised by critics as one of thee Vampire Films to end all Vampire Films, & I can't help but agree wholeheartedly. It's wonderfully shot, combining the Fairground/Carnival fun of Santa Karla with '80s gothic of these 4 mesmerising boys & their "layer" where they reside, with a Soundtrack to simply die for!!
Everybody plays their part of this Film extremely well, especially stand-out performances by Kiefer Sutherland (David), Jason Patric (Michael) & Edgar Frog (Cory Feldman).
I cannot recommend this enough, it's timeless & an absolute credit to the Horror genre. "So check it out, Mikey..."!!

As I am not a "native speaker" sub-titles are welcome. The plot & the play of this DVD are satisfactory
Lost boys special edition - By: ayresr3, 12 Apr 2010 Much better quality thanm the normal DVD. A classic that should be watched by everyone. Great cast, soundtrack, something for everyone.

Me & my girlfriends are working our way through movies from our past & The Lost Boys was one of them but none of us could find it anywhere to buy. Of course good old Amazon turned up trumps.
One of my top 3 films ever - By: K. Hulena, 18 Mar 2010 This movie has every element to make it a classic. Fantastic soundtrack, great story & fab cast. This was the first horror I am aware of to deliberately add humour & it works. I would highly recommend this movie to anyone-it has stood the test of time.
