This may be exaggerating, but tied with Moulin Rouge!, this is THE Greatest Musical of All Time! - By: Hayden Robinson, 27 Jul 2008
No matter what anyone says, & no matter what happens, no other musical can beat the one & only "Rocky Horror Picture Show"! Seriously! I know I may be exaggerating, but tied with the Baz Luhrman classic Moulin Rouge!, this is THE greatest musical of all time!

What I like most about "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" is the fact that it has its own inventive style. I mean, look at musicals like Mary Poppins & Sound of Music (both good films by the way). While they have people singing nice lovely songs aimed at families, RHPS tells about a "Sweet Transvestite" & his servants whom dance to "The Time Warp". How many musicals use THAT idea? Also, the characters are brilliant, the story is well thought-out & the songs are all-singing, all-dancing & all-rockin' (they mostly consist of 1970's rock music)!

The only thing I could criticise this film for is the fact that, because it was made on quite a low budget at the time it was made - 1975, the film doesn't look as amazing as it is. It is annoying because of the mistakes that are usually made during filming (look out for them), but I'm just going to have to live with it.

I recommend that anybody who loves watching musicals, likes rock music or just likes having a bit of fun to watch this. Trust me, this film will definately "thrill you, chill you & fulfill you!" Buy this musical classic now & then "come up to the lab & see what's on the slab!"
They give wacky a new meaning. - By: France fan, 08 May 2008
I liked it alot. I prefer older, slightly unbelieveable movies to the newer, films which are mainly focused around the car crashes & the special effects than the plot & this film explains why.
Not very scary, more gruesome & makes you jumpin parts. Definetly one to watch.
Love it!! - By: Azlak, 26 Aug 2007
Is it wrong that I remember watching Rocky Horror as a child & not finding anything at all strange about it?

How can you describe Rocky Horror? Ingenuis songs & music? Hugely likeable & amusing characters? Brilliant acting? I think it's a combination of them all.

I think Rocky Horror is a bit like marmite & I'm firmlyin the 'love it' category. For those who aren't sure if they'd enjoy it, the plot is this.

Brad & Janet, two ordinary healthy kids, left Denton to visit a Dr Everett Scott. Along the way they have a blown tyre. They wander along the road looking for help & stumble upon an old castle. Janet, terrified, doesn't want to go any further. Brad, being the tought bloke insists they need to get to a phone & call for help.

The castle's inhabitants aren't what they expect & they are dragged into a world they would never have thought existed...

What can be said about the acting that hasn't been said. Tim Curry is fantasticin this part (and curiously attractive..and that's from a straight female!). His voice is superb, his facial expressions are hilarious & the sheer perfection of his lipstick application is something to behold. It's a shame he now distances himself from Rocky Horror as he feels he's been typecast as this is probably his best ever performance. Tim Curry is a true showman, & it's shownin Rocky.

The musicin this film is not only ingenuis, but massively catchy. I love how it's got a rock undertone & unlike Grease (dare I say it!) it's not cheesy. While the sets aren't stunning, that doesn't matter. Rocky captures something else. I guess that's what makes it so special, it's impossible to know what makes grown men dressin drag to go to the theatre to see this 25 year on, but Rocky manages it effortlessly.

I guess a lot of people are freaked out by the notion of transvestytes & the bi-sexuality of Frank-n-Furter. I don't feel freaked out at all. In fact, Rocky makes me feel the same way Priscilla Queen of the Desert makes me feel. You just want to shed your inhibitions & say 'to hell with it!'

This film is just something else. I've been brought up on it's music, themes & general outragousness. Rocky also creates an open minded view about a lot of aspectsin our society that we shun, or try & distance ourselves from. Despite Frank-n-Furter's actions, I felt sorry for himin the end. The thing is, we never actually know if he's good or bad. He just seems lost, &in a way it's tragic.

A fantastic film, which will very probably make you sing along.

(Also, keep an eye out for the Crystal Dome when they do the castle shot. No doubt Richard O'Brien's inspiration for his other classic idea!)
CHICKEN CURRY OR TIM CURRY - By: L. Wilson, 28 Jul 2007
A brilliantly funny & very different film. Love it or hate it, it cannot be denied that Tim Currys` acting is superb & what a lot of bottle to play such a controversial part. 10 out of 10 Tim 4 out of 5 for the movie. Judge for yourself but you must watch this film without prejudice or preconceptions, its` subject matter is not to be a factorin your decision.
Let's do the Time Warp again! - By: Mr. C. J. Deacon, 16 Jul 2007
This is a great film, it has transvestites, ace dance moves, a Frankenstien sort of creation, it has lasers & everything. I strongly recommend that you buy this!!
