Loved this! - By: David Addison, 13 Sep 2008
This is actually my favourite Bruce Lee film.Bruce goes to help out gorgeous Nora Miaoin Italy,as she's being threatened by mobsters, who want her restaurant. At first, she isn't pleased when she meets him, thinking he'll be of no help whatsoever. His fight skills soon prove her very wrong. The highlight of the film is the final battle between Bruce & Chuck Norris. Both men had great fun working out the duel, and I think its timeless! Personally,a great martial arts action film!
Fighting Genius - By: Del, 15 Apr 2008
Badly dubbed, sloppily edited, poor translation, not very good acting & muddy colours. So why would you want to watch this movie? For Bruce Lee of course! The honorable country boy who just happens to be a fighting genius. He comes over from Hong Kong to Italy to sort out the syndicate trying to musclein on his friends nieces restaurant. There is a great fight at the end between Lee & Chuck Norris(his film debut). But beware the video version has been very badly cut to censor a fightin the restaurant which I presume involved NumChukkas & is an insult to the viewers intelligence so its probably best to seek out the DVD version which I'm sure is uncut.
Highly watchable directorial debut - By: M. JONES, 12 Jul 2007
After two successful films, Bruce Lee ended his partnership with director Lo Wei & decided to direct his own film. The difference is huge & the result is 'Way of the Dragon'!
Once again Bruce Lee is the fish out of water, arrivingin Rome to help out a family restaurant, which is being threatened by gangsters. Expecting his uncle, the restaurant staff are disappointed by the arrival of Tang Lung, a seemingly naive country boy. However, their doubts are laid to rest when Tang Lung quickly dispatches the gangster's heavies, leading to a showdown between Lung & top karate expert Colt (Chuck Norris).
As with 'The Big Boss', the build-up is slow & only shows glimpses of Tang Lung's skill. However, the slow-start is made more enjoyable by Bruce Lee's quirky humour which the film opens to. Instead of a big opening for an action film, we see Lung arrivein Rome, struggling to cope with the language barrier & bumbling around. It's these little touches, not to mention the massively camp henchman, that make 'Way of the Dragon' more enjoyable than Lee's earlier films.
But of course the action is the key thing & I'm glad to say that there's plenty, & its all great. This time, Bruce handles two nunchukas instead of one & takes on Chuck Norrisin the colosseum during two iconic film moments. This film is probably the best paced out of Lee's three Hong Kong films & the most well-known.
The plot may be paper-thin & some of the acting wooden, but the fight sequences are hard-as-nails.
Dont miss the fight between Bruce Lee and Chuck Norris - By: Jay, 22 Apr 2007
Bruce Lee demonstrates why without ever being a tournament champion that he was one of the best martial artists of all times. His speed & technique easily out class the other real martial artisits this film presents. His fight with Chuck Norrisin this film is legendary. Watching Chuckin his prime is intense, high speed & accuracy. What scares me is that Bruce is faster. And even though he is lacking size, its obvious that the little dragons power is intense. Yes the scenesin these movies may be choreographed, but it's hard to make duplicate the skills shown by these fighters with trick photography & ballet lessons.
This is the first film Bruce took a major rolein both on & off the set. He searched for quality martial artists for the fight scenes & was the one who recommended Italy for this shoot.
The film revolves around a restaurantin Italy run by Lee's uncle & his cousins. Local gangsters try to close the restaurant down & get a piece of the action. To avoid complications with the law, they try & man handle the restaurant owner & workers & Lee comes to the rescue.
BRUCE LEE DOES IT AGAIN!!! - By: J. Smith, 15 Apr 2007
Never mind 'GREATEST MARTIAL ARTIST OF THE 20th CENTURY', Bruce Lee was the greatest martial artist there ever was & ever will be. His fight scenes are realistic & beautifully choreographed & his acting is pretty good too! Buy the film just for the end fight scene where he beats seven kinds of stuffing out of poor old Chuck Norris!
Bruce Lee films rock! BUY,BUY,BUY! NOW!
