Invisible Classic - See it now! - By: Welshandrew, 02 Sep 2010
I remember seeing the invisible man (no pun intended)years ago & it is as fresh & exciting as ever!
The look & feel of the film is second to none, darkness & humour perfectly married. The old style special effects still hold up because of that added ingredient - imagination! There are some fantastic sequences of suspense, thrills & comedy all twisting towards & ending that is sadly subdued.
This disc is fantastic value with a great documentary extra & a full length commentary track.
From the director of Frankenstein, the legendary James Whale, The Invisible Man is a must see!
Excellent effects and quality - By: Vicky, 23 Aug 2010
The 1933 DVD is excellent & the bonus material is very thorough & tells you so much about the whole film. The effects are superb - I enjoyed it the first time but it gets better the more times you view it - it is a must buy - & it grows on you big time! - you even see more good parts to it the more times you watch it.
Scary Movie or what !... - By: Mr. S. Carrier, 22 Apr 2010
Prior to purchase, I'd never seen this movie... Wow !
Is this Violent or what !
This movie probably SHOULD come with a warning. It's certainly up to par with any violent film of today... we have the Anti-Hero strutting around talking about Murdering people, shooting off at his Megalomaniac lip every two seconds, Grisly Murders, with a full cast of an almost Keystone-Kop esque Police force & Bumpkins for Locals. Claude Raines certainly earns his corn as the Mad Scientist...
Again, OK to watch, but once seen, you can tick it off your list of Classics 'To see' & then forget it. Just like the original 'Mummy'.
Favourite Moments In Move History #2 and #3 - By: Dead Ted Danson, 30 Jul 2009
Sitting on an armchairin a smoking jacket with his legs crossed, The Invisible Man calmly states to his former friend he'd better not try & double cross him: "I'm strong, & I'll strangle you".
Later, he tells an intended victim "I think I'll throttle you". Sure enough, he does!
Best threats ever.
Wow! - By: Ben Atter, 16 Nov 2004
I don't want to go on, because I know that a lot of people don't read long reviews. But if you like special effects, it might be 70 years old, butin the Invisible Man, the effects you see are incredibly better than some you can see now even so many years later! And that's even before you consider just how good Claude Rains is! Buy it, buy it, buy it!
