Chomsky is a professor of linguistics at MITin the US & has earned deserved fame for both his acheivementsin this field as well as his dissenting political opinions. Opinions, I should add, which are wholly justified. He ranks with Marx & the Bible as one of the top 10 quoted sourcesin the humanities (which ought to give you some sort of clue about the massive impact he has made).

This documentary is a simple film recording of a speach he makes on the topic of War On Terror - topicalin the current climate. His stance is principally about the official definition of terrorism, & how this is used by the US to position people's opinionsin support of the administration's unjust conflicts. Chomsky highlights the hypocracy of this considering the unlawful sponsorship of terrorist states the US has been & is continuing to support. Examples from Central & South America as well as Indo-China are plentiful. Chomsky contends that the notion of a "War On Terror" is simply a logical impossibility. And this is true.

I have personally contacted Noam Chomsky regarding some of the issues he raisesin the speech & am extremely satisfied about the integrity of his theories as well as the extent to which they have been thoroughly researched.

Just to mention some smaller details about the DVD. You should note that the video isin essence the film of a man standing & talking to an audience of intellectuals. The camera work is not hollywood standard but neither should it have to be. It is the message that is important as a stimulus to further discussion & research. The extra features include Chomsky's biography & a questions & answers session.

One can hardly fail to learn something from Chomsky's speech.
