Absoulety Brilliant - By: A. Tuck, 26 Aug 2008
Amazing film but not 2 discs as the synopsis says. all the special features are there but not 2 discs. anyway. goreless film but very disturbing but very funnyin places. im hoping that tcm 2, 3 & the beggiing will be as good. they won't be but oh well. anywho amazing film which is made by its absolute low budget & amatuer filmmaking style. an absolute classic.
Old, but not therefore a classic. - By: T. P. Gratton, 02 Aug 2008
*Incase people haven't seen this yet, I should explain that my review will probably reveal the plot & therefore ruin the film* (even more, if possible).

This is the most disappointed I've ever been by a film. The most mediocre filmin 2004-2008 would beat this film hands down, with no sign of a chain saw.

Yes, I realise thatin 30 years films & graphics have progressed a great deal. And it's maybe my own fault for having such high expectations. But first & foremost, there is absolutely no tension to the film. Within half an hour half the cast are dead, & pretty much by the same method. Who is this beast? Who cares, just some hermitin a hut & that's all you need to know.

Luckily one of the girls survives long enough to drag the whole production out to be long enough to be made into a film. Thank .. no one. If they had been all killed after half an hour i'd have probably given it 3 stars purely because my boredom threshold hadn't quite been breached at that point. But luckily for her she escapes, jumps on a handy car, & the psycho does some kind of slightly strange, not at all scary dance.

If you've avoided seeing a film, or a TV, or the advancement of technology since 1974 then this is the scariest film for you! I have no doubt that this film was, at one point, considered amazing... I'm sure people thought the same over sliced bread at one point? I just accept it these days...
boring - By: martin thomas, 07 Jun 2008
awful & pathectic this is rubbish, rubbish, rubbish.do yourself a favor & dont waste your time on this dung
Suspense at it's best, but not the gore fest of the beginning - By: Dazman, 13 May 2008
After watching the beginning for the first time earlier today I then watched this film, this film does not have the electric start of the beginning, this concentrates on building the characters first & foremost.

This film has plenty of tension & after the warm up period which does go on for a while you're taken on a wonderfully tense, exciting film with a little added gore shots for good measure, this is nowhere near as gory as the beginning, this disappointed me a little, but the suspense more than makes up for it.

Good solid believable performances from the entire cast, the future of horror/slash em up/suspense films have a new level to set themselves & that bar has been set very high indeed.

Disc 2 has a documentary about the killer Ed Gein these films are based partially on the killings that he committed, also an alternate opening & closing sequence are available to view, plus deleted scenes.

Highly recommended, great film, very well executed (as are the victims!!).
