I don't normally bother to write reviews, butin this case I felt I had to. I have to say previous reviews made it look like this was something worth watching, some even contained comments like "well written". In reality this is not an adult comedy, it will only appeal to someone who is 13 or has a mental age of that or less. Poorly written, improbable characters mixed up with punch lines that are so obvious (and unfunny) it makes you want switch off & stop having your intelligence Insulted. I have to admit I didn't make it to the 2nd or 3rd series as my copy ended upin the bin after only 4 episodes. If this was deemed a classic of the 90's I'm now glad I was overseas the whole time. If this is the best ITV could come up with back then, no wonder it isin so much trouble now. Seriously if you have a brain give this a miss !

the first two series are great. the third is ok. the problem is while it did get more seriousin the second series it still worked. the third series was too serious & therefore got more depressing than funny alot fo the time. the vacuum cleaner scene is hilarious though. i cant decide which series is best out of the first two. one scene that sticksin my mind is the reservoir dogs re-enactment by matthew. it is hilarious. i love how he cuts the teddies ear off & then sticks it back on but on top of its head instead of the right place.
buy it for the first two series!

Game On is one of the best ever sitcoms to have been broadcast on UK TV & you owe it to yourself to get all three seriesin the boxset.
No idea what Osmarporter is on about. He clearly is quite mad!

Brilliant, hidden gem of a show - By: Ziggy Spaceboy, 31 Dec 2004 I always loved this show so getting this dvd set was a must for me. I have to say that I found series 2 & 3 to be superior to the first series (which was great). I've read a lot of negative criticism on the net of Neil Stuke's performance as Matt but, personally, I found Neil Stuke a lot funnier & believable than Ben Chaplin. I thought it was a brilliant decision to cast Neilin the role of Matt after Ben left the show. Ben was great but I adapted to Neil as soon as he appearedin episode 1 of series 2 & have found him to be my favourite & funniest characterin the show. My favourite shows werein series 2 when he was hanging out with Mandy's gay friend but just couldn't see/understand that he was gay - even after he knew he was gay! (Very funny but you have to see it to see how funny it was...) Matt demands he's given back his Sonic the Hedgehog socks!
"Game On" is so well written & a total cut above the similarly adult & sweary but over-rated "Men Behaving Badly". Everything about "Game On" is great from the theme music to the writing & performers. Series 3 is a bit more of a tragi-comedy - especiallyin regards to the character of Martin (Matthew Cottle) as he finds his ex-girlfriend had his baby without him knowing.
I wouldn't say "Game On" is a classic but it is a brilliant show with plenty of vicious & hilarious one-liners. For example, this quote from series 3 when Mandy (Samantha Janus) has just got engaged to her rich boss:
Martin: It's like "Pretty Woman".
Mandy: Yes - but I'm not a prostitute, Martin.
Matt: Not officially!
Anyway, I'm really glad I got this box set & I'd love to see a new series made. For me, part of Game On's charm is the fact that it wasn't as massively popular & well-received as "Men Behaving Badly" & other flat-sharing shows & that you can tell everyone from the writers to the performers put their all into making the show as good as it was.
