Worth buying - By: N. Smith, 11 Sep 2008
Fantastic program of yogalates which I have used several times a week for the last 6 months. If you're looking to lose weight it's great to combine with a more strenuous exercise dvd to improve tone & flexibility as your weight decreases. Unfortunately my band did snap as it's not as strong as other pilates bands but I bought 3 different strength bands & have worked up to the hardest one so you can make the workout as difficult as you like. Would recommend buying alongside other workouts as it's hard not to get bored when you know the words inside out!
Excellent Teaching - By: , 18 Aug 2005
Louise Solomon's Yogalates Energizer is by far the best home use exercise DVD i have bought. Her teaching methods make "Yogalates" highly enjoyable & extremely easy to follow. If like me you have tried all the exercise videos out there, & still managed to feel unsatifiedin some way with it- Solomon's DVD completely changes this! I have found myself doing it every day even!
Highly recommended for a beginner like myself, & possibly intermediate also.
Works! - By: , 14 Jul 2005
I've been a fan of Louise Solomon since the very first Yogalates DVD, & always look forward to the new one at the end of the year! Like the previous DVDs, the workouts on this one are clear & well-paced, featuring both advanced postures together with more basic versions, all shotin a pleasantly neutral white studio with no music (until the cool-down at the end), only Louise Solomon's gentle, genial voice.
However, the most important thing about this DVD is that it really does work - as long, of course, as you stick to it. Louise Solomon recommends 3 times a week, but it is rare that I can manage more than 2. Still, even with 2 a week I have noticed a distinct differencein the muscle tone of my thighs, stomach & armsin particular; I even have those little split bulges (I'm sure there's a technical term for them!) at the top of my shoulders! I'm also far more flexible than I was before, despite having practised different forms of yoga on & off for many years. I was able this year to sit cross-legged & lean forwards to wash my hairin a bucket of water at Glastonbury! Allin all, these differences make you keen to continue using the DVD & definitely put a nice springin your step. But I must stress - as long as you stick to it!
This DVD can be attempted by beginners, more experienced students & those like me, who fall somewherein between. The use of the resistance band also means that as you improve, or inevitably become used to (or a bit bored by!) the DVD, you can make the workout harder for yourself by increasing the resistance on the band, & presto! - the workouts get a whole new lease of life. Certainly one of the best yoga vids out there - unpatronising, unmarred by plinky-plonky music, & anything that can help you flatten your stomach merely by breathingin a particular way has got to be good value. Can't wait for December!
Yogalates Energizer - By: , 15 Feb 2005
I am new to yoga & pilates but found this DVD easy to follow, very relaxing & it held my attention for the whole duration. The band is included too so you don't need to dash out to buy one. The best thing though is that this DVD works, I feel much more toned since following the DVD 2-3 times a week & have since ordered the previous DVD's by the same person.
Yogalates and Resistance Bands - By: , 01 Jan 2005
I bought this item recently & have to say that it is gggggggreat. The workouts are easily explained, low impact & the resistance bands adjust the levels to work at.
