I'm dont quite get all the rave reviews & 5 star ratings especially as there seems to be a consensus that series one is generally pants. I saw all the series when they first came out & while there were odd laugh out loud moments it was mainly a case of smiles & chuckles. Watching them again recently on DVD & time hasn't been so kind IMO. Contrary to many opinions here I find several of the better UK contemporary sitcoms to be sharper & less contrived. Rowan Atkinson saying 'Bob' has limited milage. Possibly it's because like other Britcoms of the 70s & 80s Blackadder's very stagey, unlike US productions of around the same time, & now I'm used to the production qualities of Coupling, How Not To Live Your Life, Peep Show, Inbetweeners etc stage-based comedies seems a bit forced.

A brilliant historic comedy, it's managed to with stand the test of time & still remains strong! long live blackadder!

(good quality box set, well made, the discs play without any problems. such a reasonable price!)

I am over the moon with my boxset. If you enjoy witty, well written comedy, then this is a must buy. Thoroughly enjoyed watching the episodes. If only it had blackadder rides again.....

This is a great box set of the complete series, including a Christmas special. The actual box is very well presented & we all know how brilliant the contents are. A definite "must buy" for any Blackadder fan!

This is,in my opinion, the best DVD set ever. I always loved "Blackadder". Even if I am italian I always found the british satire awesome. I was used to watch "Black Adder" on TV, on BBC channel, when I was a child & that was a very nice surprise to find a DVD set including all the episodes here. The Black Adder character is, by all means, my favorite one. In my opinion much better than "Mr. Bean". For those who loves Rowan Atkinson satire this DVD set is a MUST!!!
