One of the most enjoyable, well produced, well acted & tender film I have seenin years.
Funny, tender and truthful - By: H. A. James, 09 Jul 2008 This German movie is very funny, & tender, & truthful. It concerns a group of youngsters competingin a rowing competition & the emotional challenges they encounterin discovering their sexual identities - while trying to concentrate on the rowing! This subject is treated with wit and, thankfully, a complete lack of earnestness. Other reviewers here have described it as a "gay" movie, whatever that might be, while one states that it is "porn", which is reprehensible. Good script, terrific locations, convincing acting from all concerned. One of the great movies of our time? Of course not, but entertaining & honest, certainly.
Very enjoyable - the turmoil of growing up and coming out with a happy ending - By: Andrew, 09 Jun 2008 Really enjoyed watching this & it has a feel good ending. The confusions & pains of adolescence & coming out are all portrayed very well &in the setting of a mixed crowd of teenagers of different gender, sexuality & backgrounds. It also raises the illuminating issue that often we make things more difficult for ourselves than they need to be. We assume everyone will be difficult & often they are not that bothered - the ones who are may have their own "issues" which they are making an even bigger deal out of. I liked the photography & the underlying omnipresence of the weather - perfect for the setting & captures the surging & falling emotions going on. Highly recommended!

From the story of two best mates, both with first love situations that are very real & very true to life, the film will drag you in. With the 'Oh don't do that!' moments & the 'Aww' moments to the teary moments, you will not be able to turn away. I watched the film three times after I first received it, & each time it only got better.
Stunning - By: Mike 21, 04 Feb 2008 This is without a doubt the best gay movie i've ever seen, its really got everything. I barely know where to begin praising this film, firstly, its a great, moving storyline with lots of likeable characters. You really get drawn into the film with the stunningly beautiful cinematography, the opening to the film has a dreamy opening & instantly has you liking the 2 main characters who the film is based around, there's plenty of humour which really helps it along & there's certainly plenty of gorgeous boys which always helps! Basically, you must see this film, dont let the fact its foreign language put you off, you'll forget about that within minutes. Just buy it & enjoy a beautiful masterpiecein film-making.
