![]() Comparing Prices... Customer ReviewsNot the best of buffy! - By: Ms. T. J. Whewell, 13 Oct 2008![]() I found this series rather disappointing. Whilst the first 3 (especially the 3rd season) were all tremendous & series 4 was thoroughly enjoyable this one is much darker. As a personal preference I like a big dollop of humourin buffy &in this season there's a distinct lack of humour. Some of the episodes are great but I found Dawn so irritatingin this that she marred a great deal of it & the misery of Joyce Summers' death, although portrayed very well (particularly interesting is listening to Joss Whedon's commentary), made for a rather dismal season. Glory is a great villain & Spike's character is really starting to develope but it lacks the sparkle, fun & much of the shock factor of previous seasons. Buffy gets dark...and with some more great episodes!!!!! - By: S. J. Pinder, 18 Jul 2008 ![]() season 5 takes a different turn from the 4th(fantastic)season & creates a different mood for all our favourite characters. Checkpoint-4.5/5-the council come to town. Blood Ties-5/5-Dawn discovers what she really is & the pace gets fasterin a truly great episode!!!!!!! Crushed*-5/5-sheer brilliance,Spike is torn between Buffy,Dru,and Harmony...everyone must watch this. Made to love You-3/5-quite good...my god what a way to conclude an episode. The Body**-5/5-sheer brilliance with some memorable scenes & absolutely no soundtrack to make it as unsettling & upsetting as possible...a spectacle. Forever-3/5-Dawn deals with her grief. Intervention*-5/5-Sarah plays a dual role as Buffybot a truely great creation & a truly great episode that provides us with humour & more to add to the main plot. Tough Love-5/5-Willow takes on Glory. Spiral-5/5-fabulous stunt sequences & a great story. Weight of the world-5/5-Willow goes inside Buffy's mind. The Gift**-5+/5-the most amazing finale ever!!!emotion,script,soundtrack...everything...perfect episode & definately one of the best ever(theres so many to choose from)the scoobies take on Glory as all Hell pours out onto the planet...LOVE IT!!!the most stunning & emotional conclusions to date!!!!! BUY SEASON 5 now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! irritating and neurotic - By: Akela, 21 Apr 2008 ![]() The worst season of all. While I gave 5 stars to the whole, this one hardly deserves even 3. The kid sister Dawn is a major irritation & - unfortunately - will continue to plague the series till the end. The whole team becomes domestic, neurotic & so immersedin their family problems that is is wonder they even notice there are some baddies around. Boring & very irritating. PURE GOLD! - By: Angela Mclachlan, 05 Mar 2008 ![]() This season was one of my favourites! I must of watched it about 5 times already & I only got it 2 weeks ago! This would be a great Buffy season to get. The enemyin this season is great, the acting & script is really good, It is a 100% must watcher to any Buffy fans! Second best season. - By: Ashleigh, 07 Jul 2007 ![]() I didn;t enjoy Season 5 when I saw it on tv but when I rewatched it on dvd, I loved it. All the little niggles of Season 4 are gone. Clare Kramer as the Big Bad Glory is brilliant, it's bye bye to Marc Blucas as Riley, Amber Benson & James Marsters (Tara & Spike) become much more involved & finally, some stuff for Giles & Xander to do! The biggest addition to the show is Michelle Trachtenberg as Dawn, Buffy's little sister. I wasn't sure if this storyline was going to work & Michelle Trachtenberg is a little annoying as Dawn this season but allin all it really does freshen up the show & add to the dynamic. Gellar & Trachtenberg play very well against each other. There are some great episodes here, we finally get a Xander centic episode (first since season 3!)in The Replacement & he pulls it off very nicely! Spike's back story is brilliantly filled outin Fool For Love (which tiesin to Angel episode Darla as well!). Buffy's Mum diesin 'The Body' & my hat goes off to everyonein that episode. All the case do a wonderful job at portaying the grief & emotion of the situation. Finally, the last episode 'The Gift' is one of the best Buffy episodes ever. I hated it when I first saw it but after watching ot again, it is astonishing. A fitting end to a fabtastic season.
