Boys on bikes, with a "sauce" pan . . . - By: Fay Farrell, 04 Nov 2008
I love these cheeky lads, who always look to be having a great time wherever they go.
Yet another very watchable cookery/travel series from which you learn lots about both the dishes & the places Dave & Si visit.
Superb TV. - By: Roman Ilyushenko, 09 Jun 2008
The first time I saw these two guys was on the BBC. Sitting somewhere between Michael Palin & Fanny Craddock; I was instantly won-over by Si King & Dave Myers' down-to-earth, best-mate style. If there is one industry that is pretentious & inaccessible - that of TV chefs is up pretty high. Si & Dave have reinvented the genre with their approach - part cookery, part travel report & part stand-up routine. As far as I'm concerned, this DVD will play on until it breaks - Roll on the next release!
A great programme and good value for both seasons - By: S. RADION, 16 Jun 2007
definitely worth a buy, my only minor gripe is that the pilot episodein Portugal does not appear to be included, but is mentionedin the first episode on the discs. Perhaps we'll get it when season 3 comes out?
Fun and a bit of cookery! - By: Mr. G. S. Digby, 19 Apr 2007
If you like a good laugh, haven't been, or can't afford, to travel to other countries around the world & like to cook, or just eat, something a bit different, then this is for you.
This is not a lessonin how to cook, nor will you find the 'Nouvelle Cuisine' favoured by the pseuds who have more money than sense, (American comedian Jackie Mason said it was French for 'No Food')!
What you get here is a travelogue with a basic instruction on how popular local dishes are cooked & enjoyed.
Those of you who believe good food only comesin tiny portions on a large plate with artistic decoration will hate it. The majority of Brits will warm to Si & Dave..two non-manufactured TV personalities who just exude natural warmth, humour & enthusiasm for something that tastes great!
At the time of writing (April 2007), the third series is being shown on BBC2. Even better than the first two!. Sit back & enjoy a trip round he world with two mates & enjoy a bite to eat along the way!
Refreshingly funny take on cooking and culture......... - By: Ms. S. Pratt, 30 Mar 2007
I watched this programme for the first time on the evening of 29th March 2007 & thought it was brilliant!!
So refreshing & humourous to watch.
Si & Dave were travelling through Southern India & tasting Indian doughnut snacksin the street areas. Then visiting the tea grown highin the lush green hills & talking about which teas they particularly liked.
They also got dressed up & very intricately made up; to have a go at Kathak dancing (they did quite well actually.)
They also went to a fish market Paradise with a huge range of all different types of amazing fish.
I love the way their spontenaity & the way take the micky out of each other. Throwingin one liners here & there. They really get right into the culture of a place & make friends with the locals & are always polite & open minded.
Obviously they cooked up of some traditional Indian dishesin a laid back easy going manner & then tuckin afterwards.
I would definately recommned watching them.
