![]() Comparing Prices... Customer ReviewsMoore's Best Bond - By: Mutian, 24 Oct 2008![]() I don't understand why this film has been rated rather poorly compared to Roger Moore's other outings as the world's greatest spy. I think the cast of this film make it a far better Bond film than the majority of the other Bond films of the 70s & 80s. Starting with a ski sequencein Siberia, parachuting from the Eiffel Towerin Paris & ending dangling off The Golden Gate Bridgein San Francisco this film won't disappoint real Bond fans. Christopher Walken & Grace Jones excelin their performances as Max Zorin & May Day with Walken's characterin particular being more believable as a Bond villain than others & rather menacing too. Tanya Roberts plays a bearable Bond girl, she's not the best we've seen but definitely not the worst. The whole cast deliver fresh performances despite Roger Moore who is too old for the partin this film. Overall a good Bond film with a great title song by Duran Duran (which I might mention has been the most successful Bond song) & as said, will not disappoint real fans of the James Bond series. Maybe not a 'classic', but still has its moments - By: LXIX, 19 Jul 2008 ![]() I'll watch any Bond film & look for its good points. "A View To A Kill" is probably notin the top tier of Bond films. Having said that, it does of course have all the key ingredients - such as Zorin (the genetic experiment turned psychopath), his able assistant - May Day (aka Grace Jones), spectacular locations (the Golden Gate Bridge & the Eiffel Tower), some excellent quips, car chases & of course some great music (this time provided by Duran Duran who were one of the biggest bandsin the world at the time of its releasein 1985). Any negatives? Well, straight away the opening sequence is not up there with other efforts (it bizarrely includes a take on a Beach Boys song at one point), the plot tends to plod along at times & there are some mid-80's elements such as Bond rampaging with a shotgun (there were a lot of shoot-them-up films around this time) & even Zorin gettingin on the act with a machine gun. Bond also has a damselin distress (Tanya Roberts)in tow for a particularly long time, & it does tends to cramp his style a bitin the latter half of the movie. "A View To Kill" was Roger Moore's last outingin the role and,in my opinion, he was till able to putin a good shift. Bond fans will always salute his contribution & seven movies. This is a standard Bond film & one for fans of the genre. Connery and Moore on the same level - By: K. Alger, 02 Mar 2008 ![]() i loved this film it is my Second favorite Second only to goldfinger & i thought that this was a brilliant way for Roger Moore to end his time as James bond. Roger Moore is often compared with Sean Connery which you cant do when talking about bond they bring two completley different styles. as fo the film brilliant 5/5 great action sequences, great villans & Great bond, the music is good. Great for any fan of Moore, bond or just action films Moore bows out in tsyle - By: D. Evans, 01 Mar 2008 ![]() "I propose to end the domination of Silicon Valley" Max Zorin. In 1985 Roger Moore's final James Bond film. A View To A Kill was released. I can actually remember watching the filmin a Wrexham cinema & thinking how enjoyable it was. With the hindsight of time, the fault lines of the film have become more visible. Just as Moore's third film, Spy Who Loved Me, had an almost identical plot to You Only Live Twice, View To A Kill borrows its storyline from Goldfinger, although instead of gold, villain Max Zorin is interestedin the exciting world of micro chips.in addition, a good opening sequence is slightly tarnished by the inclusion of a Beach Boys cover track. In keeping on the subject of music, both David Bowie & Sting were offered the role of Max Zorin, before it was given to former Oscar winner Christopher Walken. Walken is one of the best villainsin the series, bringing an element of humour into his role as the psychopath. Roger Moore has cited this as his least favourite of the films that he made, & likewise it is often seen as one of the weaker entries of the series. Despite this it superior to the likes of Die Another Day. The second half of the film is better with a good fire engine chase sequence & the final showdown on top of the Golden Gate Bridgein San Fransico. This DVD also includes a few good deleted sequences. Underrated - By: NoWireHangers, 25 Feb 2008 ![]() Roger Moore's last Bond film, "A View to a Kill", is considered by many to be one of the worst filmsin the series. In my opinion it's underrated. Yes, Roger Moore was getting a bit too old for the part but he still does a good job. My main complaint is Tanya Roberts's character, Stacey Sutton. She's not a very good Bond girl, but it is somewhat redeemed by Grace Jones's May Day character, one of the more colorful (no pun intended) Bond girls. Christopher Walken is a good villain & Bond gets help from Patrick Macnee who also does a good job. The story is something of a rework of "Goldfinger", but it' still fun & has added some nice twists & been updated to fit the 1980s. The movie offers lots of fun action &in my opinon delivers what I expect from a Bond movie.
