A absolute amazing final definetly the best ive ever seen, with an outstanding display from steven gerrard. A great dvd which shows the whole 120 mins plus penaltys & the road to cardiff for both teams.
The only downside for me & most other reviews ive looked at is the commentary, disapointing it wasnt the bbc or sky sports. But a great dvd which even man utd fans i think might enjoy!!

Great, Unless you Were Actually There - By: Mr. A. E. Hall, 18 Oct 2006 Ok, this was the greatest FA Cup Final of modern times. As one of the Liverpool fans lucky enough to have been at the great match, it is an event I will tell my grandchildren about. However, no DVD can ever capture what it was like.
The commentary is not the BBC original which (unsuprisingly) is the best & it fails to capture the wonderful spirit of the West Ham supporters (nothing but respect for them) or the deathly silence at the Liverpool end before Gerrard's second equaliser, as no one could see a way out. The game was wonderful, but the event was even better, & that simply cannot translate to the screen.
Having watched the wonder of Istanbul on TV, I find I can return to that easily, but having been there for this one, this DVD is just nothing to can compare to it.
As for the game? Liverpool were LUCKY! Every West Ham player deserved a winners medal for an extrordinary performance against all odds. Apart from Gerrard & maybe Hamman, the Liverpool team desrved to be on the losing team. But from the own goal to Ashton's poached strike to Cisse bringing the Reds back into it, Konchesky's fluke effort, Gerrard's heroic stunnerin stoppage time (Ricky Villa eat your heart out!), Reina tipping the ball onto the postin the last minute of extra time, Harewood's miss & then the penalties, the game had everything.
Great game, but if you werein Cardiff on that memorable day, you might find this DVD underwhelming. But if you do buy it, freeze frame at 57:50 to see me on the side of the picture (red hair & dusty coloured jacket) doing my nut! Da da da, da da da, I fellin to the burning ring of fire...

Unfortunately the commenatary of the game is neither BBC or Sky Sports & is not quite to the same standard. It sounds like Ray Clemence is the co-commentator. Who does the commentary is a slight point but it just doesn't seem to have the same unbelievable elementin fact I did wonder whether it was commentary done after the event.

This game was probably the best FA Cup Final EVER!(wellin my lifetime anyway) I will never forget it & thought no match could beat the Champions League Final but then this one came. West Ham took a surprising lead but low & behold for the second consecutive year Gerrard lead his team to a superb victory. Two classic strikes by the man him self with onein the dieing moments turned it on its head. A great match lets hope Gerrard can perform like this during the World Cup.
Istanbul Part II - By: M. J. Kelly, 27 May 2006 I thought this DVD rivals the DVD I have watched over & over of our great 5th CL Final Victory against AC Milan. All credit to West Ham. The Irons deserved all the praise & post match adulation that Liverpool FC received. Parties around Merseyside on the night of 13th May must have been replicated around the East End that night, not since 26 years have the Hammers got so close to winning the FA Cup. One strike of pure genius separated the two sides &in the end a more expedient goal keeper at saving penalties edged the Cup to Liverpool. This DVD is a credit to Pardew , the humility of Benitez, the courage of Ashton & Konchesky, but overall a homage to another great Cup Final for the Reds & the brilliance of Steven Gerrard & his team-mates & last but not least the Liverpool Fans. Watch It !
