My 19 month old granddaughter loved this Maisie dvd immediately, & its use of colours & numbers is gently educational too. The little stories about everyday things balance repetitiveness & variety & the story line holds her attention. "In the Night Garden" (too long, too slow, too repetitive) doesn't seem to hold her attention for long, despite the hundreds of thousands of pounds that have been spent on making it. She's started to say "off!" to "Night Garden" after five minutes & hand us the Maisie dvd instead.

He absolutely loves it & constantly asks for it along with his other Maisy DVD 'Maisy's Farm'. The colours, characters, simple plots, & gentle pace make Maisy perfect for younger children
All of the episodesin this DVD help children to learn the numbers 1-10 & the colours. This is donein a subtle & fun way through the storylines & it has really inspired my little boy with his numbers & colours. The episode where Maisy is driving the train is brilliant. Groups of animals climb aboard each of the ten trucks finishing with a pyramid of ten piglets! There is lots of repetition which children love & which aids learning. The episode where Eddy the elephant & Maisy are painting the shed is simply delightful & is great for teaching little ones about colour.
I only got this a few weeks ago & my son's knowledge of numbers & colours has really taken off. He now counts everything from his teddies & toys to the peas on his plate. The numbers aren't necessarilyin the right order - but hey, it's a start!
I cannot recommend this DVD enough. It is colourful, fun, educational, & excellent viewing for preschoolers.
