Prepare to be bored out of your skull... - By: Lesley-anne Murray, 07 Jan 2009
I bought this film because it had one of my favourite Green Wing actorsin it. This film was severely disappointing. I do not usually give bad reviews but this film was truly disastrous, I felt myself falling asleep during it. It was more of a chore to watch than anything.
It is like a documentary...a boring documentary at that, I do not know what I was expecting but it definetly was not this.
I WANTED TO LIKE IT BUT.... - By: Stephen M. Whitaker, 05 Oct 2008
Debbie Isitt should be ashamed of herself for masterminding this heap of excrement. Obviously indebted to the work of Christopher Guest & Mike Leigh this quote from one of the cast reveals how far short Isitt came of their high standards.
" I think we did do our homework. We spent a couple of days before we started filming just working out how our characters met. That's not necessarily important for audiences to know but it helps with creating our characters".
A COUPLE OF DAYS!!!
The cliché stereotypes both straight & gay that are presentedin this movie would not be out of placein a "Carry On" from 40 years ago.
There's nothingin Confetti that justifies its budget.
As others have said; it's a lamentable waste of talent, money & the viewer's time.
You look at the list of comedy names in this film and it's got to be good - By: M. Ward, 11 Sep 2008
This is bad film, even for British film, it leaves alot to be desired.
Apparently alot of the scenes were improvised, & you can tell, I didn't laugh out loud once, apart perhaps seeing Robert Webb's penis (and even he dislikes the film)
After about 45 minutes, I skipped to the end to see what happend.
A bit hit and miss! - By: Bezerus Bezby, 04 Feb 2008
I had high hopes for this, but was slightly disappointed. There are some great actors & comediansin this, including those who have featuredin great shows such as Allan Partridge, the office, Peep show & the Royal family. However, I was put off at the start by the revolting & never funny, only nasty, Jimmy Carr, ultimately just playing himself.
The story line & "mockumentory" style of fliming is promising but doesn't quite deliver. I felt the film couldn't quite decide if it was a comedy, a romance or even a drama. Yes, there were funny moments, (the nose job gone bad is a classic example) but there were also some touching & uncomfortable moments which detracted from the comedy.
Overall, it's qite decent, but it's not a classic comedy & is instantly forgettable
A great film - By: John Milbank, 16 Sep 2007
My wife & I thoroughly enjoyed this film. It's laugh out loud funny, with some great characters.
While it now appears fashionable to berate comedians like Jimmy Carr, we thought he, & the rest of the cast were excellent.
We saw it on TV, & immediately bought the DVD. It's a mocumentary, so it shouldn't really come as a surprise that it is a bit like a documentary.
Our preferred comedy is Spaced, Man Stroke Woman, Phoenix Nights, Extras, Trailer Park Boys... If you like any of that, you'll probably like this.
