Good but not great (sorry!) - By: D. Shipley, 04 Jan 2008
I LOVED the strong start to the season (although didn't love the annoyingly catchy & overlong new theme song!) I was totally gripped by the first four or five episodes, then hated new character Helena & became annoyed by Tina & bored by the too-frequent 'weird Jenny' inerludes. (Did like the Sandra Berhard & Gloria Steinem cameos, though - but Arianna Huffington's was a bit embarrassing...)
Alice & Dana's relationship was the best thing about the series, & they both acted it wonderfully. The season ended well, but floundered a bitin the middle. 4 stars for effort, though.
Loving it - By: Faye Taylor, 03 Jan 2008
Season 2 of the L word draws you into the story & the characters even more than last season. I really enjoyed seeing Shane settling into the idea of Carmen, & Bette's progress with Tina. I do have to say though that Jenny's scenes did scare me as she continues to fall apart as the season goes on. My favourite part of this season is Alice & Dana suprisingly as I didn't think I would warm to them. I can't wait to watch season 3 - I highly recommend this season for anyone.
Awsome !! - By: DVD Watcher, 16 Apr 2007
The whole series is great, id suggest starting at Season 1 otherwise you will miss too much.
Its a great story all the way through, any open minded adult can watch it, its quite compelling to watch time & time again.
Characters are good specially Alice & Shane, but all the others are great too.
Some steamy moments are also included, but not overly so, they never outdo the story line.
If you haven't seen it then you don't know what your missing!
Lesbo tastic - By: K. S. O'sullivan, 02 Feb 2007
Sorry I really love this show. Was hooked on the first series & the second is better. Even more hot storylines & even more characters added. This is definately my favourite sitcom of the moment. Myfeet are itching for series four, hurry up & launch it here.
So worth seeing! - By: Sassi, 06 Jan 2007
I'd seen some positive reviews about The L Word but as a straight woman not convinced whether I'd enjoy it. How wrong I was! I watched TLW s1, followed swiftly by s2. What I love about TLW is the mix of humour & sensitivity. It portrays an incredibly supportive network of women facing all sorts of issues that I felt moved by, particulary the characters of Shane & Jenny, so superbly acted. On the slightly downside, I am not sure how realistic the whole lesbian culture thing is. It is full of beautiful & glamourous women, who constantly chat about being a lesbian. However there is so much more to the storylines & this is for me why it succeeds - it made me focus more on the women as women, facing a variety of life issues, rather than just the challenges of their sexuality.
