Great show - but DVD image is disappointing - By: Floppy Feet, 25 Apr 2007
My son is crazy about LazyTown, & was pleased to get this DVD. I, however, felt the DVD was let down by its picture quality - the image is interlaced which may indicate a poor NTSC to PAL conversion.
Fine for your kids if they have a little 20" TVin their bedroom, but if you want to watch on a large LCD screen then you might be better importing the Region 1 disc.
My Tweenies love it!! - By: T. Luke, 07 Mar 2007
I've got 3 kids - 13, 11 & 3. They ALL love it!! My older 2 sing the songs all the time, & have taught the 3 yr old all the words! They even made up a dance to one of their favorite songs. My 13 yr old was quite relieved to find out that some of her school friends watch it too. This is good family fun for all the family. My husband & I quite like it too....
As cool as Iceland - By: Olivia Blair, 30 Dec 2006
LazyTown is a children's television program that originatedin Iceland (where it is known as Latibær) that features a cast & crew from both the United States & Iceland. It was created by Magnús Scheving, an aerobics champion & CEO of LazyTown Entertainment, who also starsin the show. The show formerly aired on CBS on September 18, 2004 & ended on September 9, 2006.
The show has been given the German EMIL award by the TV magazine Spielfilm.
The series recently wrapped production on its second season, which debutedin the U.S. on Nick Jr. on September 25th, 2006.
The main character is Stephanie (Julianna Rose Mauriello), who arrivesin town & urges her new friends Ziggy, Trixie, Stingy, & Pixel to go outside & be active, instead of staying inside & playing video games all day. Her uncle, the bumbling Mayor Milford Meanswell, enlists the help of Sportacus 10 (Magnús Scheving), a self-described "slightly-above-average hero". It is Sportacus' job to inspire the kids to play outside, & to help solve low-key emergencies that occur from time to time. However, all this does not sit well with Robbie Rotten (Stefán Karl Stefánsson), a lazy man who livesin an underground lair hidden just on the edge of town. Many of the episodes involve Robbie Rotten dressing upin a disguise & trying to ruin the kids' fun and/or make Sportacus leave town forever.
