![]() Comparing Prices... Customer Reviewsmaybe the best of the trilogy - By: Lee Baker, 16 Nov 2008![]() This is an amazing film, top notch i have seen all of the trilogy & this film is possibly the best, ignore any one who has rated this 1 star & has said they have only watched 30min of it, the film goes on for awhile but that makes it all the betterin my opinion, the cast is amazing as always with even more new characters, the effects are quality & has a great story, i strongly recomend this to any one who loves the other two films & has not watched this film yet, & to any film lover, because i think any one can enjoy this, but would be an easier watch if the first two films were watched first, but this is one of the best trilogy's ever made, if not the best. 'Yo Ho, Haul Together' - By: Book Worm, 26 Oct 2008 ![]() What can I say? I mean, 3 hours is a BIT long...! And the storyline falls apart like porridge if you think about it too hard, but you've got to admit that Johnny Depp's done himself proud - I don't think I've ever laughed so much! Ok, so POTC 3 is the least funny of the lot (Jack Sparrow only says savvy once!!!), but it's definately the most epic. I mean, there's a blooming great whirlpool! And there's a sea battle thats acted out with entirely graphic sea! I mean, clever or what?!? I defy you to find a funnier trilogy then Pirates of the Caribbean. It's basically impossible! OK, there are bits that you get a bit lost in, but WHO CARES!?!? Becuase, quite frankly, it's a laugh, & that's the only thing you want from POTC apart from the WOW-factor of the animations. So get it. It's one of my family's favourite & most-watched films! I mean, there are a few people who are disappointed (so if you're worried you'll be one of them, rent it) BUT YOU'VE GOT TO SEE IT!!! Buy it ! - By: Anon, 07 Oct 2008 ![]() Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant! Bought this last year & every time I watch it, it still makes me laugh. What more can you say? Buy it, you wont be disappointed. Editor needed - By: Charles Vasey, 06 Sep 2008 ![]() Sequels can get very self-absorbed but this one is chiefly notable for its excessive length, one begins to lose the will to listen after 40 minutes (so the plot appears unclear) & after an hour one hopes the heroes will be wiped out to allow us all to escape. I gave upin the end. Surely it could have been punchier than this? WHAT, NO KRAKEN??????!!!!!! (slight spoilers) - By: Adam Jackson, 27 Jul 2008 ![]() I will generously give this two stars because the production values are high - easy though with a 100 million dollar budget.... The core values, plot, pacing & structure are a mess! I didn't like the first movie BUT I really enjoyed Dead Mans Chest with it's better & bigger setpieces. This, however, is a dissapointment & it's way, way too long! What happened to The Kraken? One of the best elements of Dead Mans Chest is dealt within a couple of sentences & a single VERY brief post-mortem scene. If you really enjoyed the cephalopodical attacks of the previous film then you are going to be very let down here! It's not as if the film even offers us a better & bigger monster - all you get here is an enormous whirlpool & a 50 foot woman/sea goddess (looks ridiculous)!! And as for the scenes where Jack Sparrow isin the afterlife - just a complete load of tosh - Even Johnny Depp looks bored by now! There's plenty of fighting at the film's climactic battle (which is impressive visually) but by that time I was GENUINELEY nodding off! It was difficult to see who was even fighting who amongst all the CG ships, giant waves & whirlpools! Fair play, the CG on the water elements (notoriously difficult to animate)is outstanding. Not the worst ever film, but a dissapointment after an excellent second installment. I doubt I would ever watch it again.
