In short, one of the finest comedy performances available right now. O'Briain is a very intelligent man (he did Physics & Maths at University) & it really comes throughin the act.
The performance begins with a half-hour of banter with the front row; thankfully the audience members he picks on are interesting! The rest of the performance also calls on the audience occasionally, which gives the act a relaxed, unscripted, friendly air.
I can't wait for his new DVD!
The best stand up DVD in my collection - By: Ms. B. Harper, 25 Oct 2008 I bought this dvd simply because I'm a big comedy fan & love a lot of stand up. Having seen Dara on a plethora of tv programmes including Mock The Week & Have I Got News For You, I knew very little about his actual stand up, but went for it. His performance is absolutely mind blowing, from start to finish there is barely a weak moment. He moves from theme to theme with ease & barely a join. Add to this, a barrage of strongly written, brilliantly performed material & an amazing ability to improvise & chat to the audience & you're beginning to scratch the surface of this DVD!! If you only buy one dvd, buy this one :)
Funniest DVD you will ever be lucky enough to see! - By: Helen Mccabe, 13 Oct 2008 Dara O'Brein is an idol. His slightly angrey approach to comedy is hilarious. His technique of picking somebody out of the audience & having a go at them is brilliant. It's as if he's making it up on the spot. His timing is perfect & the extras aren't bad. The best Irish comic by miles. If you don't mind a bit swearing & are looking for a good laugh, this is the DVD for you.
Comedy Perfection ! - By: Conchie, 11 Apr 2008 I have watched this DVD more times than I can count, & I never fail to end upin tears of laughter from start to finish. Dara gives quite simply the best stand up performance I have watchedin years. The brilliance of his show is the ad libbing with members of the audience... how he can create an entire routine on the spot simply by chatting to audience members is amazing. Best bits... well where to start... Gillian Mc Keith.....and the marvellous "you've been told twice" line just kills me !!! SUPERB
Don't watch him if you've got flu - By: J. Burcombe, 12 Mar 2008 Went to see Darain Croydon while on the mend from flu (proper, bed-ridden for a week flu, not man-flu). Laughed so much I had snot coming out of orifices I didn't even know I had. I must have missed a third of the gags while recovering from the previous one. This man is a comic genius, nothing less. The audience interaction is a work of high art. And he does not offend a single person. Definitely a guest at my fantasy dinner party.
