Explosive pap - By: Ben, 01 Jan 2009
This third sequel is a real disappointment, unsurprisingly. Aimed purely at those with an attention span of a nanosecond, it's virtually non-stop explosions, car & motorcycle chases, fights, continual urgent instructions into mobile phones, everything but two vital ingredients - a plot & intelligent dialogue. But then sadly they don't seem to rank as important anymore amongst many young film fans at which this film is largely aimed I suspect. Oh, if you count the "where is Jason Bourne, we need to find him & take him down" line, repeated enough timesin the film, I guess that might loosely count as a plot. The special effects are excellent, no question about that. But overall this film really is a load of tosh, dwellingin fantasy land throughout its duration as well as stereotyped characters & wooden acting at its worst. Still I suppose that qualifies as 'fun' amongst the younger element.
It's a shame, because I rather liked The Bourne Identity, the first one, which was the much superior film. It had its silly moments, but somehow I was able to suspend disbelief & enjoy it. In 'Ultimatum', there is excessive camera shaking & action merely used to beef up & make scenes appear 'more exciting' because the lack of a sufficient storyline couldn't carry the film otherwise. I know there's a big market for this sort of thing, so 'Die Hard' fans should love this, but all very formulaic, predictable & a film with about as much subtlety as a flying mallet.
How good?! - By: Mr. A. G. Tubb, 08 Nov 2008
Thoroughly enjoyed this thirdin the series. Only wish there was a 4th, 5th & more. Bourne is the underdog with the edge over his pursuers, & they continually underestimate him. Typically. Only film I'd maybe rate this against is US Marshalls, with Tommy Lee Jones & Wesley Snipes, but Bourne is better, by far.
Forget James Bond .... Jason Bourne is the man!! - By: N. Thompson, 30 Oct 2008
Over the years I have gotten increasingly bored with the whole James Bond franchise. How long can they carry on turning out mediocre James Bond films where you know exactly how it'll end. In the Jason bourne films however, this new franchise seems fresh, much more realistic & features a main characher that I can actually feel for. Upto now all Jason Bourne films have been exciting, unpredictable & extremely well written, produced & acted.
I hope there will be a forth film to continue this excellent new series of films.

Re-defines "action adventure" Very enjoyable & even when you have watched it once you'll want to watch it again for all the action you missed. Buy it!
