Very disappointing episode - By: Mr. A. D. Emery, 14 Nov 2008
Like the other reviewer I noticed that this episode came with my 6-12 box set & was pleasantly surprised. However the episode itself is pretty poor because it is too unbelievable & the two stories don't seem to connect very well.
In this episode we see Jack trying to crack down on a gang who are illegally importing endangered species & other animals. Jack starts off indifferent to the plight of the animals but after reading a government handout becomes quite the advocate animal rites ticking Mullet off for an ivory hammer which happens to conveniently be there on his desk. Of course its good to be against cruelty to animals but the whole thing was a little bit preachy & unbelievable. The most laughable scene was where the aging Jack fights off a tiger with a broom while the owner, supposedly more experienced with animals, cowersin terror.
Add to that the side story of a naked artist turning up dead on the bed of a seemingly unconnected couple when they arrive home from holiday; & an art teacher having her wicked way with a school boy, it just doesn't even nearly measure up to the best of Frost episodes.
