The funny bits only just make it worthwhile - By: Mr. D. Thompson, 14 Oct 2008
its not as good as anchorman - I found this tiresomein places & not knowing much about the culture surrounding NASCAR racing - some of the stereotypes i might not have fully appreciated. I found mosat of the characters to be obnoxious & dimwitted - However, maybe that is the main joke of the film?

Anyway the characters were annoying & the only saving grace is that there are some funny moments - mostly centred around Ferrels drunken father figure & Sacha Bara Cohens french driver.

Cohens comic talents were not utilised to the best they could have been - the director seems to think the biggest joke they can get out of him is a ridiculously over the top french accent.

its a film that doesnt make the best of its comic leads & mostly concentrates mostly on the idiotic redneck characters involvedin the main part of the plot. Thankfully it has enough laugh out loud moments to actually make it worthwhile - although it does go on for a bit & the periodin the middle where bobby suffers his predicted downfallin the movie is very tiresome.
Ferrell at his best - By: Chris Wood, 08 Aug 2008

only moderatly funny this has a few good laughs spread out the film which is way too long by the way.its ok but not one to go out of your way to watch
Fantastic Fun - By: N. Coleman, 11 Apr 2008
Such a good, cheesy, tacky movie, completly stupid but highly entertaining!
Definitely worth watching just so you can revisit the one linersin your daily life.

Odd funny moments amongst a long drawn film - By: SHANN, 22 Jan 2008
This film has some funny jokes/moments but on the whole it is a bit dull. It drags on unnecessarily & could have been shorter with more comical moments. The storyline is what you would expect (Naf & not exactly imaginative), the acting OK with the writing a mixed bag of dribble & some funny one liners. Overall I would watch it once & park it for the rest of eternity. Would not spend money on it.
