Stand-up legend - By: eugoogolizer, 25 Oct 2008
Many people know Alan for his appearances on Friday/Sunday Night Project or his Ding Dong, but for a long long time before he was a stand-up comedian & anyone whose watched him flourish will recognise how far he's come. Ok, so this has been out for a year now, but it is still one of the best stand-up DVD' out there. This DVD is great fun. One of my favourite parts is "I heard her fart... then I heard her blame it on me." This DVD will have you laughing out loud throughout.
Really good stuff!
Please stop. My ribs do hurt so - By: Marc Cosker, 16 Oct 2008
Flippin eck!!!!!! I have found Alan Carr to be funny ever since I saw him being interviewed by Mel & Des on their afternoon show many years ago. Since then I have seen him become the star he is.
I bought this DVD a couple of days back & I have to be honest I'm not a fan of stand up as I get easily bored & switch off. Well, I can say this didn't happen watching Alan. There I was sitting on my own with a cuppa dripping with tears of laughter. I had to press pause more than once otherwise I would have missed his other gags. When he explained sports day with the bean bag on his metal brace left me gasping for air. So funny.
Tooth Fairy - By: N. Wilson, 11 Oct 2008
This is an absolutly brilliant DVD - Alan Carr is at his funniest with some of the best stand-up I have ever seen. Dispite the fact I have watched this DVD something like 25 times already, I still find myself laughing my pants off to most of the content.
If you're a fan of Alan's TV work, then buy this DVD, it's him at his televisual best & then some more.
10/10
Had me in tears of laughter! - By: Ms. S. Palmer, 17 Sep 2008
I would highly recommend this DVD if you are feeling down & want cheering up. The things he says & gets away with! Its the way Alan tells the jokes too & the facial expressions. Ive only seen him on The Friday Night Project & didnt know what to expect & was very pleasantly surprised at how funny he is - Alan had mein tears of laughter & my stomach was hurting. After watching it I was telling some of his jokes to my boyfriend later that night & at times I struggled to tell them as I was laughing before I even finished them! Very funny.
He Takes Camp Comedy To A Whole New Level. - By: Steven Stewart, 29 Aug 2008
Alan Carr is easily one of those comedians who takes what we know about stand up comedy & turns it on its head. He's not a cynical comedian nor is he an over the top gay comedian who spends the entire show talking about his sex life (See Julian Clary). Alan is a comedian who can take real life, talk about itin the typical bitchy female way & make it hysterical.
His stories are classic comic scenarios placedin an environment that every audience member can relate to. He's an every day comedian, he's the man you will likely sit next to on a bus who's going to insist on telling you his life story whether you have your MP3 player on or not. The difference between Alan & the guy on the bus is you really want to listen to Alan. You have no doubt his stories will have youin stitches as he gives you his own camp & sadistic view on life.
This is one of his first live DVDs & he's someone that will become an even bigger success than he already is. He may be on TV a bit too much, but that's simply because he's so witty & funny. He's not ashamed to make fun of himself & his own life, all he asksin return is that you take an open minded view to his comedy style.
