If you're looking for something like spooks series 1-6, then don't bother with this. Actually don't bother with this at all!! Unless you enjoy watching terrible acting, bad dialogue & a pretty rubbish performance all around.
The idea of a group of teenage spies fighting terrorism is ridiculous & something that you would most likely find on the disney channel. It might have sounded like a good idea on paper but on the screen it's awful. It doesn't have the fast paced drama or storyline that you would expect from spooks & while watching all you think about is how rubbish the acting etc. is throughout.
Buy at your own peril!!
What did you expect? - By: Brian Sheeran, 22 Oct 2008 Look, Spooks itself increasingly reverted to a "style over substance" theme with each passing series. So just what did you expect this spin off to be?
It was a great idea, but it went off track, just like its American cousin, 24. Each series became weaker.
Apparently 24 have realised their error & Series 7 is supposed to bring things back on track. Spooks also needs to get back to its roots. Less cool camera angles & hairdos..... more gritty plot.

The first episode was poor. The premise was interesting - nuclear bombin London, MI5 needs new ways of working etc. But a whole team of youngsters? It risked becoming Hollyoaks with guns.
However as the series progressed it got better & better. Stand-out performances from Liam Boyle, Georgia Moffett & Andrew Knott went a long way to counter the frankly wooden emotion-free acting of Ruta Gedmintas.
The final episode had genuine tension & left me hoping for a second season, as long as they learn their lessons as well as Torchwood did for its second outing.

Poor acting, painfull to watch. I gave the first episode ten minutes & couldn't take any more of this drivel! Spooks (origional) is a tried & tested success! It works, you can't beat it! Leave it alone! The only use for this dvd is as a drinks mat & that's being generous!

This series does not target the same audience as the original Spooks. It's lighter, has a younger cast & the dialogue is not as heavy, but the stories are still there, the conspiracies & the exciting moments. It's a spin-off, & the idea is to try new things based on an old idea. I think it works. It's fun, way faster than the original (thank God), & shows us a not so distant future that is dark, but exciting for these spies.
I applaud the new series & hope it comes back, because that cliffhanger was magnificent. It's rare that I like all the charactersin any series, but I do here, & I think they all have interesting qualities & room for development. They're all interesting & have loads of potential, so yes, I do hope it comes back.
It's perfect for when you just feel like watching something fun & fast & then go back to your boring life, ha.
