Wrestlemania 24 ( Orlando Florida Citrus Bowl )
Match 1 - JBL -VS- FINLAY (Belfast Brawl)
A very solid opening match full of high impact spots, The thing you must realise about these two "superstars" is that they have known each other for many a year, even before there WWE days so they have a fine understanding of how each other works & how far they can push it, Finlay hits a spectacular Undertakeresque dive through the ropes & takes some big bumps & hard hitting shots to the head. Wrong man wonin my eyes.
Match 2 - JOHN MORRISON VS CARLITO VS MR KENNEDY VS MVP VS CM PUNK VS SHELTON BENJAMIN VS Y2J - (MONEY IN THE BANK LADDER MATCH)
One awesome match, the greatest MITB i've ever seen, i was watching this live & just had no idea at all who would win it, its a shock who won it but all you real wrestling fans out there will now know. This is a car crash of a match with some really dangerous spots & massive bumps, The only words i can think to describe this match is ENJOYABLE VIEWING!! Without Y2J we would never had this match type so thanks go to Jericho.
Match 3 - BATISTA - VS - UMAGA (Battle For Brand Supremecy)
Another solid match, but then again Umaga is always a pleasure to watch as he is one of the most competent performers on the roster. I wouldnt say he carries Batistain this match as Dave doesnt need a helping hand anymore but he certainly helps him out alot, Batista botches the finish but still a decent matchup.
Match 4 - KANE - VS - CHAVO GUERRERO (ECW CHAMPIONSHIP)
I wish i could echo my comments on this match with the review of the last match but I just cant, shock beginning middle & end, saying that the match is 12 seconds long so that may tell you alot!!!
Match 5 - SHAWN MICHEALS - VS - RIC FLAIR (Career Ending Match)
Honestly....and i'm not just saying this for nostalgic reasons but this was the MOST emotional match up i've ever watched, HBK shows to the world that he is still the showstopper & will forever be Mr Wrestlemania. Flair asked for the best of Shawn Micheals here & thats exactly what he got. Two massive moonsaults from the top rope to the outside, the first resultingin instant broken ribs for HBK which he is still recuperating from to this day. The ending is a tear jerker & will go down as one of the most memorable matchesin all of wrestling history.
Match 6 - PLAYBOY BUNNYMANIA LUMBERJACK MATCH
Melina hits some funky looking movesin this match but the lights go out & its just one of those matches that allows the fans to get some popcorn & a coke before the impending main events.
Match 7 - TRIPLE H -VS- JOHN CENA -VS- RANDY ORTON (TRIPLE THREAT WWE CHAMPIONSHIP)
A good but not amazing main event, Orton shows his quality here, No one expected the winner of this match to win & it was a shock ending, some brilliant innovative movesetsin this match that you'll never have seen beforein any match, Cena & The Games entrances are awesome on this as well, with HHH finally get some pyro on his. I'd give this an 8/10 for a wrestlemania main event.
Match 8 - BIG SHOW -VS- FLOYD MONEY MAYWEATHER (BIGGEST ATHELTE IN THE WORLD VS THE BEST ATHELTE IN THE WORLD) NO DQ!!
The majority of fans felt this would flop but Big Show showed why he has such potential & why Flair believes he is the best big man to ever bein the business, Show carries this & it's highly entertaining stuff, really old school Kayfabe story that was executed perfectly. The ending is very worth while & legit.
Match 9 - UNDERTAKER - VS - EDGE (WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP)
These two have had endless matches this year & will probably win Feud of the year im sure of that, When your hAve Undertaker & Edgein a main event you know yourin for a treat, this is simple a brilliant wrestling match, 10/10 for reversals, near falls & big bumps, a shock ending & a truelly great finishing shot to close wrestlemania. If you want a classic match between these two watch this & one night stand 08.
I'D GIVE WRESTLEMANIA 24 9/10.

Wrestlemania by definition means several things,generally,the most important of all is that its gonna be good & when you skip past the celebrities,the extra promotions,storylines & all the other points,then that is all that matters.
Wrestlemania 24 was a fantastic event with very little failing to work,mind you,one of the most heavily featured matchesin the build up lay at the feet of floyd mayweather,a professional boxer,as he went up against the big show,this match was pretty poor & too much was given to a posing boxer who had no right to be there,i will save that for later onin this review perhaps.
The event opened with a belfast brawl,just another term for streetfightin truth,as finlay went up against JBLin a match that was there to end their feud & end the silly hornswoggle storyline involving vince & finlay & the truth that JBL knew,this was goodin itself but what about the match,well it was good,didnt drag & was brutal enough without going savage,there should have been some blood but this is a small gripein a match that worked the frantic crowd up nicely,a good opener.
Next up was a match fit for God almighty himself,it was a moneyin the bank match featuring seven men who gave everything & then some,the athletes comprised of shelton benjamin,MVP,CM punk,mr.kennedy,john morrison,carlito & chris jericho.This was as frantic as any other moneyin the bank match & maybe the best,some of the moves were beyond words & allin all this was an instant classic.
Next up was a match for brand supremacy as batista of smackdown went up against umaga of Raw.Before the match started william regal who was ring announcer for Raw entrant pronounced umagas name wrong which was stupid but forgivable,the match has been criticised by some but i enjoyed it so all good so far then.
The ECW title had its first ever defence at wrestlemania next & it deserved a better showing indeed,the match lasted 8 seconds if im not mistaken & featured the champion chavo going up against kane,the match is hard to review as it doesnt last but i will reiterate that ECW deserved better,one could be forgiven for thinking that vince wants to build it up again just to destroy it again.
The next match grabbed wrestling fans by the heartstrings & then pulled with all its power,it was a career threatening match where if ric flair lost he would have to retire but this time we all knew he could lose,his oppenent should have been triple Hin my opinion but it was shawn michaels who stepped up to possibly end the career of his hero.The match was good & we were treated to a fine example of two men giving heaps & entertaining us & then the end,it caused a tear,it caused reflection,it caused a mass celebration,flair will always be one of the greatest.
A lumberjack tag team match was up next & snopp dogg was master of ceremonies as maria & ashley went up against beth phoenix & melina,the outside of the match was filled with divas,a mixture of heels & faces so help & hindrance was there when a diva left the ring.It wasnt much of a match but not the worst of the night.
A triple threat match for the WWE championship was up next as the champ randy orton went up against john cena & triple h.This was a match that no one thought orton had a chance in,one fall would make the winner & the tensions were high of course.The match wasnt out of this world but it was enjoyable & contained some great visual moments that time wont forget,a cool way to end the bout was something that stands out,take your chances when they come is the moral to this match,a good match.
This was followed by a pure ego trip & a match that smacked of good business for vince at the expense of us all who value wrestling as something more than a puppetshow.The big show went up against floyd mayweather (with his entourage).This wasnt big or clever,that dipstick floyd lording it up & acting like a prima donna,too much was given to him as i said earlier & this wasnt good at all,the crowd were quite & couldnt have cared less,vinces wallet may have trouble containing his cash but i am not a happy customer.
The world heavyweight title was up for contestion nextin what was the main event of the evening,the champ edge went up against the undertaker who won an elimination chamber for this match.The undertaker was also protecting a 15-0 record at wrestlemania & edge wasnt gonna be as easy as some that he fought to gain such a record.
The match was first class,another instant classic,momentum shifting like the hands on a clock & a shuddering level of brilliance maintained throughout & a scorching finish to a great night,superb.
The extras arent world class,we get the hall of fame which is good & at times drags on but is always worth a look & the battle royale that kane won to get his ECW title shot.
Another great mania & 4 stars tugging at 4.5 is a worthy score .
Best mania ever? - By: mikky silk, 30 Jul 2008 This wrestlemania was a true classic & for my money was up with Mania's 3 & 15 as the best ever. This had stacks of Unforgettable moments & original moves.
1st match: Finlay (w Hornswoggle) vs JBL
Great hardcore match that far surpasses what you would expect from these two. Hornswoggle even played his partin this one by adding to the tension. 8.5/10
2nd match: MITB ladder match
This was possibly the best ladder match ever & definetely the best moneyin the bank match. Shelton again was the star of the match but everyone helped make this a 10/10
3rd match: Batista vs Umaga
A big step-down from batista's last mania match, still worth a watch but maybe not more than twice. I quite liked the ending because it seemed to follow up what had happenedin the match. 5/10
4th match: Chavo guerrero vs Kane
An extremely quick match which brings back memories of Bob Backlund vs diesel. Does its job well. 6/10
5th match: Ric Flair vs Shawn Michaels
Wrestlemania picks up again as This match is a classic.
Great storyline+ Great Wrestlers + Great ending= great match. The match really doesn't dissapointin any way & has a very emotional ending.

6th match: Beth Phoenix & Melina (w Santino Marella)vs Maria & Ashley
Probably the worst match on the card for wrestling but Santino Marella, Jerry Lawler & Snoop Dogg add a lot of entertainment to this. 6/10
7th match HHH vs John Cena vs Randy Orton
This was better than Cena vs HHH at mania 22 & was a very good match, I'm glad this wasn't at the top of the card though because it wasn't a 5 star match. 8/10
8th match: Big show vs Floyd "money" Mayweather
This match starts off slow but it starts to pick up & by the end you've got a Brilliant match, no-one was really looking forward to this match because it should've been a train wreck, but it turns out a to be a nice surprise. 9/10
9th match Taker vs Edge
Will Undertakers streak end, Will edge's opportunistic way of defending his title land himin hot water with the deadman, all of these questions are answeredin a phenomenal main event. 10/10
A must buy mania
the mania of wrestlemania - By: James Klonowski, 28 Jul 2008 the stadium is huge which makes it even more special. m.i.t.b. should have kicked the night off instead of the worthless belfast brawl. match of the night was hbk vs ric flair i love the soundtrack to the build up. the worst matchin possibly wrestlemania history was batista vs umaga skip this one. the triple threat match was very exiting & should have been the main event triple h should have won here instead of a month later at backlash. the light go out halfway through but it is quickly fixed. the mayweather & big show match is good you'll be shocked how much punishment mayweather reccieves. taker & edge was the main event even though it was good it deserved to be mid card at best. hall of fame was quite bad this year minus the rock returning & ric flair getting inducted roll on austin & rock getting inducted. only a battle royal is the extra should have been lot more none the less a great wreslemania but the best onein my view is still seventeen.
IMPROVES EVERY YEAR............................. - By: L. Hay, 21 Jul 2008 I will not give a match by match account of this great event as this has been well enough documented as it is, but it was a truly enjoyable spectacle. However, I must comment on the match between nature Boy Ric Flair & HBK Shawn Michaels. This was a truly outstanding match & Naitch showed his true colours & gave the best performance I have ever seen from him as a lifelong fan.
Extras include a Battle Royal which preceded the PPV; & of course the Hall of Fame ceremony. The Rock went over the top for my money, taking around an hour & a half to induct his father & grandfather, with a contribution from his mother.
The star of the inductees was Ric Flair, introduced by my favourite, the one & only Triple H.
Allin all this DVD extends to well over 8 hours & I have to admit watching it twicein succession.
A truly great event. (There was some sort of accident with the fireworks at the end on the Undertaker's departure, but that was not included. Pity!)
BUY IT, RENT IT, BORROW IT, BUT SEE IT!!
