![]() Comparing Prices... Customer ReviewsLow on laughs - By: hissyfit girl, 12 Nov 2008![]() I was so excited when the film came to DVD, having not had a chance to see it at the cinema. I pre-ordered it, sent the hubby out, put the baby to bed, & settled back to enjoy. But what a disappointment! Why aren't my favourite girls happy? Samantha miserablein LA, Miranda back to her cynical & stroppy worst, Carrie a materialistic drama queen, & Charlotte - did she even have a storyline? Even her pregnancy announcement was muted, after so long trying. It's like the writer couldn't think what to do with her character, as she was the only happy one, & the only memorable moment for her was pooing her pants! I don't think I would have bothered signing back up for that! And the bit with Bigin the car as he leaves Carrie waiting to get married - the acting is terrible! I cringe just thinking about it. He doesn't sound at all believeable. I also agree with other reviewers about the extras - so not work the extra £5! Quite disappointing - By: K. Daniels, 08 Nov 2008 ![]() I've been a fan of the series since it began & was really looking forward to the film. How disappointed was I, the series finished with happy endings but the film drags out gloomy storylines which take up most of the film meaning it's fairly depressing to watch & the adult humour is barely there, also the whole thing comes across a bit cheesey, especially some of the acting. The ending is very predictable & I was let down by the writers & felt like the whole thing was pretty pointless, i'm hoping a sequel is not on the cards! 2 disc special edition - Sex and the City - By: C. Killoran, 26 Sep 2008 ![]() I pre-ordered the 2 disc special edition from Amazon & as promised it was delievered slap bang on my doorstep on its official release date. Well done Amazon. Anyhow saw the film at the pics, fantastic. Decided to buy this edition & boy what a waste of money. Stick to the normal edition. I thought there would be loads of interviews with the cast but there was just one with SJP & the writer Michael King. A look at the wardrobe dept. & a commentary on deleted scenes. Nothing too much to interest you there. If you are a big fan though you would probably investin this edition but otherwise save your cash, buy the 1 disc DVD & purchase the soundtrack of the album (which is awesome) with the money you have saved. Can't hold a candle to the series - By: W. van Altena, 24 Sep 2008 ![]() What happened to Carrie & her cool friends? All the personal growth, the intellect, the warmth & the realness of the series has been tradedin for shrill superficiality & blatant materialism. Suddenly, Carrie & her friends come across like 16-year old mall rats trappedin the bodies of fortysomething women. All they do is shop, talk about shopping, & whine about men. This is NOT what made the tv series so enjoyable! It is like a very weak version of five seasons of SATC, where nobody seems to have learned from life's experiences. Had the series been any less brilliant, this would have been an okay movie (longin the tooth & predicatble from A to B though...) But following the marvellously witty & original series, the movies seems cheap, derivative & really only to have been made to cashin quickly. What a shame. What I was waiting for - By: Marlene Grehan, 23 Sep 2008 ![]() It was wonderful to see the girls finally on the big screen after 4 long years. The film contains excitment, sadness & a couple of laughs. If your a die hard like me, you will not be disappointed.
