Big improvement on the last one... - By: chuckles, 10 Nov 2008
When I sat down to watch this movie, I had no real expectations as the last Hulk movie was very poor, however with the recent spate of excellent Marvel films I was keeping my fingers crossed. Firstly I must say this was a huge improvement from the movie a few years back. The CGI was a lot less obvious & the movie had a much fuller story. Nice cameo from Lou Ferrigno as the security guard & of course Stan Lee. Looked good on Blu Ray, however not as much for me as Iron Man. Major downside for me was Liv Tyler, just didn't find her at all convincing.... to girly, breathless & pouting for a top scientist. I have to admit that I have not had the same issues on the Blu ray as some of the others here. Summary is good movie, just not quite up there with Iron Man & the Dark Knight
Beware Potential Blu Ray Problems - By: Beaureef, 07 Nov 2008
The film was OK, but just that. However, the main reason I am writing this review is to warn potential buyers that this disk seems to have latest-technology content on it. The titles etc. played on my Samsung BD-P1400 OK but the film refused to play. However, I did get the film to play, eventually, by downloading & installing the latest firmware.
So, for Samsung BD-P1400 owner's, at least. Get the latest firmware first.
Incredible!!!! - By: Paulthurlby, 25 Oct 2008
Seems some are having probs with this bd, it could be firmware updates as this is a new bd, with bdlive enabling.By the way it does not work tried several times to enable. As to the bd p.q fantastic, sound awesome.Tim Roth just about pulls it of for the bad guy,as for the rest of the acting Hulk wins.
dont buy this on blu-ray - By: Eric W. Harrison, 25 Oct 2008
i got this movie the other day & like so many other people my copy will not play. my sony bdp s-300 will not touch it so if you want to watch the hulk i recommend you just get the dvd at least you will be able to watch the movie & avoid the frustration that i & so many others have had.
Great film, unfortunately the disc won't play in my Samsung BD-P1000 - By: C. Julien, 22 Oct 2008
I couldn't watch this film on my machine because it freezes once you select the language on the options menu. This is a similar problem to what my friend had with his machine (BD-P1400) but we managed to get around that with a firmware update (not available for my machine) so I watched it at his place instead. The film is a way more faithful rendition of the comic character while paying a lot of homage to the TV show. It's better written & directed than the Ang Lee version that simply went offin the wrong direction about the Hulks family issues & figthing rabid dogs (what were they thinking?) This film is firmly setin the Marvel Universe like the Iron Man movie & is best watched back to back with Iron Manin order to get the full awareness of all the shared continuity aspects they've managed to deliver with both movies. The best thing about the new Hulk film is that the relationship between Betty & Bruce is far more alive & a feature, thanin the Ang Lee film. The fact that the Hulk gets stronger the more he gets angry is also a featurein this movie that didn't existin the last movie. We get a much needed & brutal fist fight at the end of the movie & also a much more driven Bruce Banner who is trying to rid himself of the beast within, unlike the Eric Bana version of Brucein the Ang Lee flick that simply went with the flow. This is the Hulk movie that they should have made years ago, Buy it as long as you don't have a Samsung BD-P1000 & use your (2005) Ang Lee version as a drink mat. BTW Anyone having problems playing this film with a Samsung BD-P1400 can solve this by downloading the latest firmware for the player.
