![]() Comparing Prices... Customer Reviewsnot bad! - By: Mrs Z M Haines, 01 Sep 2010![]() The film wasn't too bad. I'd read the book prior to watching the film, & found the film kept to the book pretty well. I did find the acting a little wooden, but was an improvement on the first film. overall, not bad! (And it did make me cry a little when Edward broke up with Bella) Not impressed. - By: Hamstead, 30 Aug 2010 ![]() I have read & enjoyed very much the first two Twilight books. I thought the first film was pretty good, although the make up artist went overboard on the white makeup. The second film for me was a bomb - for DVD anyway. It was so dark on my TV that I could barely make out the picture & the actors seemed determined to talk quietly & without moving their lips, so all I got was 'mumble, rhubarb, mumble'. If I hadn't read book 2, I wouldn't have had a clue what was going on. Much of the emotionin the movie was of the angsty 'get a life' stuff as far as Bella was concerned. This may be the samein the books, but better conveyed. The 'Emo Vampire Song' doing the rounds of Youtube is a hilarious skit on the Twilight films, & a lot more entertaining than this second offering. I hear that the 3rd film is much better. I surely hope so. Better than the book... - By: Blackberry52, 18 Aug 2010 ![]() I have to say I love this film! I was struggling mid-way through the new moon book & decided to watch the film to provide the motivation during the 'Edward free' period & it really worked. The film seems to be better proportioned than the novel & is much more gritty than the first film, also thankfully they have got rid of Edward's dodgy eyebrows from the first film (what were they thinking!?). Allin all a great film, especially the end, I won't give it away but I did scream with excitement! Enjoy. Brilliant - By: J. Irvine, 17 Aug 2010 ![]() An excellent film due to its fantastic leads & the fact that it stays almost completely true to the book. A satisfying sequel that ramps up the action and romance - By: Benminx, 17 Aug 2010 ![]() I was very surprised to find that I enjoyed the first movie, so checking this one out was clearly a must. Happily, it's handled at a slightly faster rate than Twilight, & this means more events & more teenage angst. Shortly after a frightening accident, Bella's soul-mate Edward does the unthinkable & splits up with her, leaving her devastated. However she finds something to enjoy about life againin friend Jacob's company, giving hope to his romantic feelings for her. However all is not wellin the area - vampires are killing, their ancient enemies the werewolves are rallying their numbers, & Bella's taken an unhealthy interestin high-risk sports... It's an excellently handled movie. The romance moments are given full Hollywood clout & have strong impact, aided by very committed performances from the central trio. The action is enjoyable & fairly violent, & the tension is masterfully handled, especially a trip to Rome & a tense & sadistic meeting with the vampire power-brokers the Vulturi. Lautner is given much more screen time thanks to his more important role this time out, & he gives a star-making turn. Pattinson breathes pure charisma, & Kristen Stewart is very convincing as emotionally conflicted & desperate Bella. There are some slightly shonky CGI effects with the werewolves, but they're not noticeable enough to damage the viewing enjoyment, & the action is nicely exciting. As a film it's very enjoyable, & as a sequel it manages to raise the game, the tension & the romance allin one outing, nicely setting up a sequel with some surprising moments & plot hints. Very enjoyable. Related TitlesOther DVDs related to The Twilight Saga: New Moon (2 Disc Special Edition) [DVD] [2009] include:
