After borrowing the book from a friend a number of years ago I wondered if it could ever be made into a film - & yes it can - loved it. Have recently bought a copy of the book which I am looking forward to reading again. You can see the film or read the book - & then enjoy which ever you have not seen or read. Lovely adaptation.

Fantastic Family viewing. Takes a little while to grasp the story line, but when you do your completely hooked. Beautful & sad, really enjoyed this film, reccommemd it highly.
The Time Traveler's Wife - By: Carol Drew, 14 Mar 2010
Overall I thought the film was a good interpretation of the book. I was a little disappointed that the sub-stories of the book just were notin the film, or completely skipped over. I won't be specific because I don't want to give the game away. I was particularly disappointed that the very end of the book was totally omitted from the film, with the film ending much earlierin time. None of this is probably helped by the fact that I had only recently read the book. Had I read the book longer ago, or, more importantly, not at all, then I think I would have liked the film more. At least nothing was invented or put in, but I felt the omissions made the film lack a certain depth. However, this is not an easy book to interpret on the screen, & overall I think a good job has been done. I enjoyed it.

Film v. Book - By: Disjoncteur, 11 Mar 2010
As a stand alone film you might find it worth watching. If you've read the book you are more likely to find the film a disappointment. My partner, who had not read the book, gave up half way through & went to bed saying it was just the same thing all the time - some guy disappearing & then reappearing.

I didn't expect a word by word reproduction, but too much of the original story was missing, for me.

I bought the Blu Ray version thinking there would be lots of worthwhile extras. Even with my player connected to the Web I couldn't find much apart from the film itself so I wished I'd saved my money & got the cheaper DVD version. If you've got a half decent TV & player that gives you good sound & vision I reckon you would be better off doing that - if you end up buying it.
