Absurd! - By: Max, 04 Sep 2010
Yes the world is a horrible place & young criminals with guns rule the streets. Now if we all just gave the good ol' law-abiding people some more guns, then maybe we could get rid of the scum. I hate this film as much as I hated the Jodie Foster revenge-thriller "The One", cause it doesn't wanna tell a story about real people, it just wants to entertain & shock! And that just leaves me with a bad tastein my mouth. The whole thing starts out pretty decent, but quickly turns totally absurd & unbelievable. Don't fool yourself & think this is a "real" movie - go get the horror/terrorfilm "Eden Lake" instead - at least that movie didn't pretend to be something it wasn't. The one star is for Michael Caine - he's always good no matter what they put him in.
harry brown - By: Adam Holyoake, 02 Sep 2010
i had been waiting to see this film since it was released as i heard it was a good film.
so a few weeks ago i got the DVDin the sale & watched it as soon as i got in.
i like this film as it touches on reality & shows the violence that happensin the streetsin some parts of england. this film has a good story & it explains stuff well. some parts of the film ya can see whats going to happen before it does but that does not happen to offend. the film had some amazing actingin from Micheal caine & others. there is alot of violence from the starts with lots of bad language so not good for people easily offended.
the music to the film is amazing with the song from chase & status ft plan b which is amazing & a nice classical peace toward the end.
this film is a good film & worth watching.

Harry Brown, Michael Caine - By: Mr. Alan J. S. Hayward, 17 Aug 2010
We had read reviews of this film & it sounded the sort we have enjoyedin the past. It did not disappoint. It was, of course, not suitable for kids up to teenagers due to the violent content. Perhaps because I am an old wrinklie I was able to relate to the main characters who were about the same age as me. This made me sympathetic to their predicament & Harry Brown's reluctant (at first) retribution (says a lot about me!). The initial inability of the police to deal with the problem is typical of today. The liberals say we must deal kindly to the poor young hoodsin the estates. Yes, there are many ways to change the conditions which lead young gang members into the sort of life they grow into. These conditions must be changed but, at the end of the day, lawlessness & antisocial behaviour cannot be excused & must be punished. If we do not have sufficient prisons, then produce more, stop locking up old folk who try to defend themselves & concentrate on the perpetrators.
These are some of the topics dealt within this excellent film. Strongly recommended.
You failed..to maintain..your weapon!! - By: A. E. Parsons, 07 Aug 2010
Much has been said about the veracity, the overt gun-culture, & the "Bill" style police ~ but MC makes this film... especially the scenes he did with actors whom he thought were genuine junkie/villains. Enjoy it for what it is... & btw: CHAV is not an acronym..it's a word for a gypsy kiddie..now derogatory, once affectionate. God Bless!!
